They teach vital life skills, while integrating an astonishing level of expertise in martial arts
I initially sought out Yoon’s Martial Arts School in the hopes of having my children build physical strength and learn self defense, should the case ever arise that they need it. But after registering them at this school, I now know that they are gaining far more than just physical training and techniques. Yoon’s Martial Arts School is very structured in the ways of teaching the developments of self discipline, emphasizing on manners, building strong character, achieving moral consciousness, and incorporating ethical behavior in the students’ every day lives. They teach vital life skills, while integrating an astonishing level of expertise in martial arts. The instructors are highly trained and extremely accomplished. When they train the students physically, they motivate them to achieve their best, both in the power of endurance and the precision of HapKiDo skills and techniques. They expect that the students gain focus, and stay focused, in order to learn and practice the numerous skills that are taught within the program. Each class is conducted in a manner of respect for the students, and in turn, great respect for the instructors. As a parent I feel that the instructors not only care about the student’s progress within HapKiDo, but they also care about their personal well being and development, even outside of the school. The degree of capability and self confidence, that each of my children display before me is astounding, especially considering their young age (5& 6). I really can’t say enough positive things about the experience my family has had at this school. I can only imagine even greater things in the years to come.

I have had the pleasure of being Instructor
Bobby's(Instructor) student for more than a decade. Instructors'
greatest quality is his commitment to ensuring his students success. The
lessons I learned from him are not only bound to Martial Arts, but are
VERY transferable to life outside the mat. His teaching style
instills confidence and the "I CAN" attitude into his students.

Instructor Bobby has devoted his
entire life tothe art of Hap Ki Do. His character is a clear reflection
of the Yoon's philosphy. His instruction is thorough and his training is
challenging, yet built on progression for people of all walks of life. In
today's world you need a martial arts studio where you learn not only
the art, general fitness and discipline are a must along with the art. He
is more than qualified to teach not only Hap Ki Do but also strength and
conditioning as he has been a personal trainer in Calgary for a number
of years. Above all Bobby is a very humble and approachable instructor. I
couldn't have asked for a better instructor during my years at Yoon's
Martial Arts.

Since my son Travis has started at Yoon's Martial Arts School one and a half years ago, I have noticed a dramatic change in his manners and respect for others. Yoon's Martial Arts School has taught Travis why it is important to have good manners and more importantly, why we respect others. Instructor Bobby has been a great role model for Travis, he looks up to Bobby. Travis enjoys being here and is always ready to learn more. We believe we made a good choice in choosing Yoon's Martial Arts School.

My five year old son has recently enrolled into Yoon's Martial Arts School, and I can already see a significant difference in his confidence and self-esteem. I also must make note of the respectful and trust building environment. It is clearly apparent that students here feel safe to find themselves their strongest ability and will to succeed. I would, and have highly recommend this program.

Hello instructor Bobby. You may not remember me, but my name is Sean Davis and I spent a few years at the school before I was forced to leave because of a move. I miss Hapkido more than I can really convey. When I got here to New Brunswick about six years ago, I joined a Tae Kwon Do school. Within three years I had gained my black belt. It felt like an empty win, however. Sure, I won quite a few tournaments and was a really good fighter overall, but overall I missed Hapkido and yours and Kelly's teachings. The school I joined didn't push me as hard, advanced me too easily through the belt systems, and didn't challenge me overall. It is also as if I didn't really learn anything other than a couple sparring techniques and some forms. In Hapkido we learned self-defense, controlled no-contact sparring, and do a lot of fun things. At this school, we did some half-assed warm-ups and then do forms and sparring. It was just the same thing, day in day out. Two years ago it dawned on me, I had joined a Mcdojo. They don't teach you much and everyone advances, no matter how bad they are. The biggest thing, the biggest thing I miss about Hapkido was the discipline, honor and that what you taught was self-defense and not pure sport. You do not know how much Hapkido has affected my life, and I want to thank you for all you have given me. I will keep up my martial arts training, even if I have to do it myself. I hope someday I can either return to the school or find an instructor at least half as good as you. Thank you so much.
